King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh:

King Abdulaziz Public Library was established by the former Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The building of the library was officially completed on February 27, 1987. On June 20, 1996, Saudi Arabia issued the 36th order and decided to establish a charitable organization named King Abdulaziz Public Library whose founder was King Abdullah. The organization is committed to book-related causes, aiming at disseminating knowledge and culture in the Saudi society, and maintaining Saudi historical and Arab-featured heritage. It now has a main library in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and two branches—one, located in Casablanca, Morocco, was established in 1985, and the other is the newly built one in Peking University in 2018. These libraries serve all researchers and knowledge-seekers with their rich collections.

King Abdulaziz Public Library is recognized as one of the most important public libraries for its organization, knowledge service and cultural projects. These cultural projects and service include the Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the unified Arabic index, the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz World Translation Award, etc. From the perspective of human civilization, the library builds a bridge for effective communications between Arab-Islamic, Eastern and Western cultures.
