On April 16, 2019, all the staff of King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University (“Library Branch”) visited Beijing Foreign Studies University Library (“BFSU Library”) and the library of Arabic Language Department of BFSU. Dean Yang Xiaojing of the BFSU Library, Ms. Ding Shuhong of Arabic Language Department and the teachers in charge of the various departments of the BFSU Library welcomed us warmly and gave a brief introduction of the BFSU Library, including its departments and services.

Deputy Director of the Library Branch Mr. Abid expressed his appreciation for the warm reception of Dean Yang and offered the invitation for her to visit the Library Branch. Subsequently, he introduced the Library Branch roughly and had in-depth exchange over reader service, resource development, academic and cultural activities, infrastructure building and other issues with the librarians of the BFSU Library.

After the visit, all the librarians of the Library Branch said that they have benefited a great deal from the experience and gained new insights on their own sectors, which would help pave the way for the upgrading of the next plans of their work. The visit not only broadened the vision of the librarians, strengthened their service concept, and provided thought-provoking ideas for the future development of the Library Branch, but also enhanced the librarians’ professionalism and sense of mission, and strengthened the ties between the libraries.
