King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University Attends the Saudi National Day Reception on Invitation


On September 23, 2019, the 89th National Day Reception of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was grandly held in Beijing. Saudi Arabia's ambassador to China Turki Almadi, and Chinese Foreign Ministry's special envoy on Middle East issues Zhai Jun attended the reception and delivered a keynote speech respectively. About 600 guests from different sectors including military, politics, business, academics, media and etc. attended the reception. On the day, King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University (“Library Branch”) set up an exhibition stand at the venue at the invitation of the Saudi Embassy for the guests to get a glimpse of the Library Branch, a new symbol of the friendship between China and Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition stand of the Library Branch was located at the entrance of the venue, and the background board displaying the exchanges and friendship between China and Saudi Arabia attracted the attention of a great many guests. In order to help people get a better understanding of the Library Branch, our staff specially prepared cultural handbags, brochures and souvenirs and gave them to the guests as presents.

The reception was wrapped up in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, and the exhibition activity of the Library Branch also achieved a successful outcome. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. As a bridge of knowledge and cultural exchanges between China and Saudi Arabia, the Library Branch will further strengthen the development of literature and information resources while participating in and organizing various activities. We will also provide academic services to teachers, students and research scholars in the field of Arab studies and work to promote Sino-Arab civilization and cultural exchanges.
