Library Use Policy

    1. ID Access

    Readers shall enter King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University (“Library Branch”) with their valid PKU ID card or by a facial scan; those who are not a current PKU student, faculty, or staff shall go through relevant procedures in accordance with the Reception Methods for External Readers of Peking University Library .

    2. Act in a Civilized Way

    At the Library Branch, please dress neatly and be polite to others, and in such a way, a civilized and pleasant environment for all the readers will be maintained.

    Shouting, reading aloud or speaking on the phone loudly are prohibited inside the Library Branch. Do not use any item to save seats and do not move the tables and chairs at will.

    Do not spit and throw litter to keep the inner space clean.

    Do not bring any food or beverage into the Library Branch.

    3. Take Good Care of Public Property

    Take good care of the facilities and equipment, and it is forbidden to inflict damage or daub on anything of the Library Branch. Advertisement and other promotional materials are not allowed to be posted or distributed in the Library Branch without permission.

    Take good care of the books and periodicals of the Library Branch. In the case of damaging books, punishment shall be imposed according to the Regulations of Overdue, Damage, Loss and Concealing of Library Materials of Peking University Library .

    4. Fire Prevention

    Smoking and fire-using are prohibited in any place within the Library Branch. It is forbidden to bring inflammable and explosive articles or high-power consumption electrical appliances into the Library Branch.

    When walking through the exit, readers shall be cooperative for the inspection if the book anti-theft machine alarms.

    5. Other Statements

    Readers shall cooperate with the staff of the Library Branch and follow the relevant rules and regulations.

    The Library Branch reserves the right to impose penalties for the readers who violate the above provisions.

    The right to interpret the above rules is vested in the Library Branch.
