Aramco Asia's General Manager for China visits Peking University


On the morning of September 15, more than ten guests, including Mushaba Qatani, General Manager of Saudi Aramco Asia China,and Hazam Jihairun, Vice President of Public Affairs of Aramco Asia, visited Peking University. Wang Bo, Vice President of Peking University, received the guests at Linhu Xuan. Ning Qi, Director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of Peking University and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Fu Zhiming, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Lin Fengmin, Head of the Arabic Department of the School of Foreign Languages, Wu Bingbing, Deputy Head of the Arabic Department of the School of Foreign Languages and Chair Professor of Middle Eastern Studies in the State of Qatar, and Zhou Manli, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation also attended the meeting.

Wang Bo welcomed the Qatani delegation and introduced the history and academic departments of Peking University. He said that Peking University, as the first national comprehensive university in China, is the cradle of talents and an important window for international exchange. Peking University and Saudi Arabia have a long tradition of exchanges, and the King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University is a crystallization of this. He expressed the gratitude to Saudi Aramco for its continued support during the construction and development of the branch, and looked forward to further cooperation in various fields such as education and culture.

Mr. Qahtani expressed his pleasure to visit Peking University and his admiration for our profound academic heritage and tradition, which is best demonstrated by Saudi Arabia's choice to establish a branch library at Peking University. He said that the Arabic Department of Peking University will soon cooperate with Saudi Aramco's Department of Cultural Communication to translate and publish the famous work of Arabic culture, "Hanging Poems" , and he was looking forward to further building deep academic friendship between Peking University and Saudi Aramco.

Ning Qi thanked Aramco for its support of the Arabic Department's Sino-Arabic cultural project and hoped that the two sides would carry out more exchanges in the future to help Sino-Arabic friendly exchanges and cooperation.

After the meeting, Qatani delegation went to the teaching building to visit the Arabic language students and teachers who were attending classes and encouraged them to play a bridging role in promoting Sino-Arab exchanges. The guests visited the King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University, listened to a lecture by Lin Fengmin, and visited the Arabic calligraphy exhibition held at the branch.
